The official documentary for this year’s Tour 21 has been announced as a FINALIST for an upcoming charity film award.

Thanks to the Cure Leukaemia family who voted on our behalf, the documentary beat off competition for over fifty other documentaries in our category (£500,000-£5 million turnover category) to become a finalist.

The Charity Film Awards is the world’s largest campaign for cause-based films and Smiley Movement is a platform for people driving positive change, funded by the brand licensing company Smiley™.

Charities are categorised based on their income generated in the last financial year. This creates a level playing field so that smaller charities are just as likely to receive an award compared to the larger, more established organisations. The response to the Awards has been overwhelming, with more than 300 films entered and nearly 40,000 members of the public voting for their favourite film in the first round of public voting.

The finalist films will now be sent to the Judges of the competition, who have the tough task of scoring them and working out which films will be the winners of each category. There will also be a second round of public voting in the next few weeks, where we will have the chance to win the People’s Choice award in your category – which is a separate award to the Judges’ scoring!
