With the official confirmation that the Tour de France is returning to British soil in 2027, for the first time in The Tour 21 history, our team of amateur riders will begin their 3,500km journey on UK roads, taking on the full professional route just one week ahead of the peloton.
Three Nations, One Mission
The 2027 Grand Départ is a “Triple Crown” of British landscapes, visiting Scotland, England, and Wales.
- Stage 1: Edinburgh to Carlisle – A stunning rollout from the Scottish capital, crossing the border into England.
- Stage 2: Keswick to Liverpool – A brutal but beautiful day through the heart of the Lake District.
- Stage 3: Welshpool to Cardiff – A relentless test through the Welsh valleys before finishing in the shadows of the Principality Stadium.

Since its inception, led by former England footballer and blood cancer survivor Geoff Thomas MBE, The Tour 21 has become the “Holy Grail” for amateur cyclists, to ride every kilometre of all 21 stages of the Tour de France.
“Having the Tour de France back in the UK is a monumental moment for British cycling. For The Tour 21, it’s a chance to bring our mission to the doorstep of the people who support us. Every pound raised on these roads goes directly to funding research nurses and clinical trials that save lives through clinical trials networks in the UK that have impact across the globe.”
The 2027 route, which then heads into France after the UK opening, promises to be one of the most demanding in recent memory. From the fells of Cumbria to the legendary peaks of the Alps and Pyrenees, our riders will face the same mountains, the same distances, and the same exhaustion as the pros. The full official 2027 route will be announced in October 2026.
The 2027 event will be the first time the Men’s and Women’s Grand Départs have both been hosted in the UK in the same year. As the world turns its eyes to Britain, The Tour 21 team will be leading the charge, proving that with enough grit and a vital cause, even the world’s most gruelling race can be conquered.
